“We’re going to continue providing unemployment insurance, we’re going to continue incarcerating people so that’s going to be within our budget, we’re going to continue providing food stamps, we’re going to continue with detention centers... Let’s take that money and put it to a program that can get people trained so they can transition from the public sector to the non-profit sector or the private sector and grow the economy!

It’s such short-sighted thinking: we don’t want to increase the deficit for the year, but instead we’re going to increase it for 50 years because we have young people who’ve never learned skills!”
